There has been a change to our Lady Lions' softball schedule. They will be hosting Henrietta on Friday, instead of Saturday, which was originally scheduled. Varsity game time will be 5 p.m., Friday. It will be Senior Recognition Night, with those activities set to start at 4:15 p.m. There have been no changes to the Lions' baseball schedule for the week.

Our lifeskill students will be participating in their very own All-Star Olympics that will be held Monday, April 29. There will be 17 McCord/VES students, 10 VMS students and 6 VHS students participating in the event.
During Opening Ceremonies, our athletes will be led around the track by the Roarin' Lion Band. An awards ceremony with pizza will be held at the conclusion of all the events. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the event may take the donation to school principals or to Jana Neely at Central. Checks need to be made out to VISD-Vernon Olympics.
Our students will also compete in another All-Star Olympics on May 2, in Altus.

So far this school year VHS seniors have covered 10 landmark court cases in their Government class. Last week, the students tested on the cases by drawing their knowledge of the court cases in shaving cream. Teacher Brett White said it was pretty cool to see their "vision" of the case.

Last week, our medical assistant students did a research project on MA jobs anywhere in the world. In their research they included information about salary, housing and utilities, accommodations such as transportation, food, and details about their job description/area of focus. CNA/MA instructor Candace Adams then incorporated their research into a game of Life using their careers, salary and housing information. The point of this was to show them the reality of the field of healthcare and the fact that you DON’T have to have a college degree (although it is encouraged) to be able to make a living and live LIFE! Our winner was Litzy Ayala who worked as an MA doing a travel gig in Seattle, WA and lived in a hotel while working. She finished out her “life” with $1.6 million!
