Fans attending our Middle School and High School basketball games will soon be seeing this flyer posted around the concession stand. The Wilbarger Health Coalition has started a Healthier Concessions Project aimed at assisting local school districts in offering healthier food options in their concession stands. This is not an attempt to remove the candy and soda that everyone loves from the concession stands, but for the concession stands to add healthier options for families supporting our area teams. Vernon ISD wants to know what healthier food options our Lady Lions' and Lions' fans would consider purchasing if available at the concession stand. The Turkey Bowl is a fundraiser for the VES Student Council, with the money raised being used to purchase Christmas gifts for children on the local Star Tree.
